101 reasonsWe have seen lists for everything under the sun as 2013 arrives. You may have a list of New Year’s resolutions. You may have a list of fitness goals. We have also seen “Best of” Lists, to wrap up 2012, like the Top Ten Recipes on Provecho Peru and the Peru Culinary Year in Review 2012. Here I want to present my 2013 plans for Provecho Peru in the form of a list – 101 Reasons to Eat in Peru – a list of typical Peruvian recipes that you simply must try.

This list is not comprehensive of “all the best” dishes, nor does it include all of the Peruvian recipes here on Provecho Peru. As the year goes along, the links to these typical Peruvian recipes will be added here so that by the end of the 2013, you will have a reference list of all the delicious foods to try when you visit Peru, visit a Peruvian restaurant or when you want to prepare typical Peruvian recipes in your very own home.

My love of food was cultivated early on by my family but has come alive while living in Peru. During the 12 years of living in Lima, Peru, I have also enjoyed numerous trips to other areas of the country. Here on Provecho Peru you will find Peruvian recipes in English, American favorites prepared overseas, news about Peruvian Cuisine and interesting tidbits about life in Peru.
