My love of food was cultivated early on by my family but has come alive while living in Peru. During the 12 years of living in Lima, Peru, I have also enjoyed numerous trips to other areas of the country. Here on Provecho Peru you will find Peruvian recipes in English, American favorites prepared overseas, news about Peruvian Cuisine and interesting tidbits about life in Peru.

Thanks for the recipe, it looks delicious. Living in the States I miss tremendously the waiting for midnight to have the midnight meal accompanied -and sweating while eating panneton and hot chocolate. When we were kids we were sent to bed as soon as the meal was over so we could give Santa a chance to bring our presents but it was so much fun falling sleep with the sounds of family laughing, telling jokes, old stories and getting a little tipsy.

    • It is amazing how “normal” it does become. Summer Christmas with hot chocolate seems like a must now. Fireworks just wouldn’t be the same if it were raining and snowing, right?! Happy Holidays!
